🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨Our U16s are going National League 💥For the first time at any age group, the Grizzlies will be entering a team at U16s level into the National League. After an incredible few years, we're making this step up at U16s level to continue our club's growth, looking to make a big impact at the highest level of youth basketball.Trials for the U16s NL squad will take place as follows:Saturday 25th May1.30pm - 4.30pm📍 CHS Sports CentreAs with our other age groups, these trials will hold weight for squad selection, but we strongly recommend any players looking to get involved attend our regular Monday evening Open Sessions (8pm @ Eaton Bank Academy)The U16s group is intended for players moving into school Years 10+11 in September.Any questions at this point just get in touch, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Get your diaries out 👀 - our 2024 AGM & Awards Evening is set for FRIDAY 14TH JUNE.We invite all members and followers of Congleton Grizzlies Basketball Club to join us at this year's event. This year, our hosts are our friends at The Cygnet Club, Congleton, with the event running 6.30pm 'til 10pm.We'll begin with the AGM, including a review of the year, run through our plans and investments for next season, meet and vote in the club's committee, and then host a Q&A session for everyone to have their say, and ask those all important questions to the club.Then... (drum roll) THE AWARDS! 🏆

Introducing our new COACH ANDO Player Development Clinic - with sessions taking place fortnightly on FRIDAYS, starting this FRIDAY 3RD MAY!2 Sessions available to join;🏀 SHOOTING SESSION: 7PM-8PM💪 INTENSE WORKOUT: 8PM-9PMEach session, run by Head Coach Ryan Anderson, are all about player development - targeting the ways you can take your game to the next-level 🔥- Held every two weeks: i.e. Fri 3rd May / 17th May / 31st May onwards throughout the off-season.- Players can book onto either 1-hour session, or both sessions for the full 2-hours.- Venue: CHS Sports Centre- £4.50 per session. 🏆🏅🏅🏅Yesterday was a day to celebrate the success of an outstanding team.The achievements by our U14 Reds team this season - winning their league for the 2nd season in a row, up against some of the most established basketball clubs in the country - is remarkable.All our players plus Coaches Tom & Dave were presented with their League Championship Trophy and medals, a truly proud moment for the club.So, while yesterday's result simply shows how one game can be decided by the narrowest of margins, its those medals and trophy that we wake up with this morning that are only won through the hard work and commitment of the players over the course of the whole season 👏A huge well done to all the players and coaches for putting Congleton Grizzlies Basketball Club well and truly on the map 🏀And of course, we already can't wait for the next season to begin!LET'S GO GRIZZLIES 🤜🤛 BACK TO BACK REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS!!

Our Grizzlies U14s teams have both completed their regular seasons, and there are now just the a handful of fixtures being played out across the two North-West regional divisions (Dee & Ribble) to bring the regular season to a close... taking us into April's playoffs!However, its official - our U14 REDS are...🔴UNDEFEATED DEE DIVISION WINNERS !! 🔴A massive congratulations to ALL the players, coaches Tom Watson & Dave Leah and everyone involved to help secure this awesome achievement 🤩But the hard work and focus doesn't stop - because with final standings being settled across the two divisions we move swiftly into the PLAYOFFS - with out REDS and BLACKS squads soon to have their opponents confirmed.LET'S GO GRIZZLIES!

We as a club post-covid set about to change how basketball is viewed in Congleton and the wider areas. As part of this pledge, we vowed to never turn away any kids from the court, regardless of circumstances. This has NOT been easy (or cheap!). The list includes expanding operations to now THREE venues (meaning every indoor court in Congleton is used by us!), training up new club staff including 7 coaches, 2 tables and 3 referee's (with more to come in December!) as well as organising the 'boring stuff' such as kits, first aid packs and all of the admin side of running a club.However, we do it for days like Saturday, when the clubs first ever 'development' squad took to the floor. With TWO u14s teams this year (I know, it's bonkers), this team consists of players from all over Cheshire East, with some having never played competitive basketball before, and two even never having played at all less than three months ago!To say I am proud is an understatement. The club is continuing to push forwards and thrive, and we only have bigger plans for the future (hello National League) for basketball in Bear Town.These lads done us proud on Saturday, scoring a very respectable 42 points in their first game as a team and they didn't give up, even though they lost the game in the end. I believe they deserved a special mention because not many of you see the effort these lads put in week in, week out every week in practice.Good job team!Coach Ryan
